Working time management for mom s

When you walk in the door, you see a stack of papers floating around your desk, and when you go home, just as at the office, you can’t find those important papers you need so desperately to stay out of trouble or make an excuse.

When you come home at night, you and your spouse argue, and your children ignore you because you just aren’t spending family time with some of the important people in your life.

Does this sound familiar?

Have you ever wondered why?

Well, you are not managing your time accordingly so that you reap benefits and the ones you love are happy. You are not organized, so therefore how the heck can you find those important documents?

Moms already have a big responsibility and we neglect to manage our times, our responsibilities turn to chaos.

Let’s face it: it is never easy to stay organized when we have busy work schedules and a family to attend to, as well as other responsibilities.

The traditional individuals often store files in a filing cabinet, and clean their room and desk once every week. However, there are people out there that are spontaneous. Some of us even store documents so they are out of sight and soon find those documents are out of mind, until someone calls their attention to the papers.

The key to success moms is getting your priorities straight. If you shop for groceries once per week, you can cut back time by buying enough to last longer, so that grocery shopping isn’t part of your weekly plan.

The extra hour or more that you spend at the supermarket can be spent on quality time with the family. This is only one solution to managing your time, but it is certainly a start. In addition, you can make up a list of your duties, starting with the most important tasks first, and working through the list one at a time. I found this to be a great solution for managing time, since when you work hard to complete one task, the rests fall into place with ease.

If you spend an hour or even one half hour in the mirror, it is probably because you are not feeling good about your self. It takes approximately five minutes to put make-up on, and to stand in the mirror longer is only taking up time. Hair is also important since our person in general sets an impression. If you spend longer time than needed doing your hair, try finding nice looking hairstyles that are less complicated to style. This is also a great process of the time management solution. Clothing should also be limited but appropriate for whatever it is that you doing and it should not take less than a couple of minutes to get dressed.

Unless you are a model, or actress, overdressing is not appropriate in most cases for every day life situations. If you are spending extra time preparing meals, you might want to consider recipes that are quick and healthy to manage your time mom.

What to know when choosing a dental insurance plan

All of us need dental care. It is therefore important that we choose the best dentist and dental care plans to cover our dental needs. The Dental insurance plan can also do a good job in covering our financial need on that matter.

It is best that you should not just look for affordable and cheap dental insurance but instead look for the one that can give you the best services at the given cost. There are several factors that you need to consider besides the cost. Here are some guide questions to help you decide for your dental insurance.

Can I possibly choose my dentist?

Like any other health insurance, there are some dental insurance plans that will restrict you to certain dentists while there are also those that will let you have your choice. Anyhow, if you do have your favorite dentist but doesn’t fall into cheap category, you may consider paying a little more to add her/him to your dental insurance plan.

Is it possible for me and my dentist to decide for the best dental treatment for me?

Normally, dental insurance plans limit their payment to the cheapest treatment as possible depending on the condition. Better coordinate the matter with your dentist since he will be the one who will justify the procedure to follow on your dental needs.

The tricky part here is the fee relating to materials that will be used on certain things like dentures, brace, fillings, implants and other aesthetic peripherals.

Make sure you read and understand the maximum cash value that your dental insurance plan is willing to cover.

What are the usual services covered?

The best dental insurance plan is the one that covers two cleanings within a year with no extra charge. Fluoride treatments and X-rays as well should be covered without adding extra cost. Usually, the cost of some services will be split into half by the patient and the insurance plan considering the plan’s premium payment depending on the plan policy.

Is there any limitation on the schedule of appointments?

There are some dentists that limit the times of appointment to some dental insurance affiliates. Thus, when you get one, make sure that your dentist doesn’t restrict appointments coming from the people under your dental insurance plan company. It would be good if you are not limited to certain time or days in a week as this will be very inconvenient to your part.

How much will I pay?

Dental plans are worth the premium price. Usually, dental plans that are sponsored by an employer are the finest deal that you could possibly have. Also, it depends on your tax situation, sometimes your premiums can be tax deductible.

Anyway, even if you get the cheapest dental plan or not you can still save a lot of money rather than paying it straight from your pocket on a regular rate.

The importance of a professional dental care should never be neglected, you might think that everything is well with your teeth and gums now, but still a trip to the dentist will confirm that. GP

Glycemic index diets can help to control blood sugar level

Study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition findings are that assessing a meal using the glycemic index, which lists the quality of carbohydrates contained in many common foods, appears to be a good way to predict the effect a meal will have on blood sugar levels, this is important information for diabetes patients.

Dr. Thomas M. S. Wolever, of the University of Toronto and colleagues examined whether overall carbohydrate content and glycemic index of individual foods, as given in published tables, determined the effects of a realistic mixed meal on the blood sugar in normal subjects.

The team measured the responses to six test meals in 16 subjects in Sydney and eight meals in 10 subjects in Toronto, and then pooled the results. The meals varied in amount of calories, protein, fat, available carbohydrates and glycemic index score.

The blood sugar and insulin responses to the Sydney test meals varied over a 3-fold range. For the Toronto test meals, the blood sugar responses varied over a 2.4-fold range.

The team found no correlation between the blood sugar levels and fat or protein content of the test meal, but there was a significant correlation with carbohydrate content and glycemic index alone, which accounted for 88 percent of the variation in the blood sugar response.

This findings show that the glycemic index works and diabetes patients can use glycemic index diets but should be monitored and use thier prscribed theraphy.

Should you confide in your friends about your panic attacks

Imagine sitting in the gymnasium at your child’s school while you’re having a full-blown panic attack. There are people all around you and if you get up to leave the gym everyone will be staring at you. Your heart is racing a million miles a minute. Your face and body are drenched in sweat from heat to toe like you’ve just run a marathon. What a nightmare!

Unfortunately, I don’t have to imagine this because I lived it. This happened to me in the spring of 2005 and was the worst panic attack I’d ever experienced. I felt utterly humiliated as other parents that I knew sat beside me and wondered what the heck was wrong with me.

To me the only thing I could do at that moment was lie, so I told other parents that I was having trouble with hormones and hot flashes. I felt sure I couldn’t admit that I was having a panic attack because these people would think I was “crazy”. My child went to school with their children, who would sometimes come over to my home. There was no way I could admit the truth.

The only two people to whom I ever confessed my panic attack problem were my sister and my best friend. That holds true to this day, even eight months after I found a cure for my panic attacks and no longer struggle with this issue. However, the stigma is still there.

What is it about anxiety disorders or panic attacks that make people afraid to speak out about them? Anxiety sufferers are afraid that they’ll be seen as weak or that people will look at them differently. It’s ironic that when people have a physical illness such as kidney problems that they have no problem discussing it with others. But when you bring a problem that can be viewed as a “mental illness” into the picture, people shut up like clams.

I’m not personally convinced that anxiety disorders can be classified as a mental illness as the problem has less to do with brain activity and more to do with the nervous system. The “fight or flight” mechanism is usually out of whack in anxiety patients and needs to be re-set so that the body can produce normal physical reactions to trigger events.

So are you in denial about your panic attacks? How many people are you going to lie to before you finally get help for this problem?

I don’t recommend confiding to your inner circle of friends unless you’re absolutely positive that you’ll get the support you deserve. I can’t imagine anything worse than not being taken seriously about this issue.

However, you might be surprised at the response you get if you share your secret. You may discover a new ally in your panic attack problem.

For example I was surprised to learn that my best friend struggled with panic attacks as well after I finally confided in her about mine. It was very comforting to me to be able to discuss this problem with someone without feeling like I would be viewed as unstable.

Panic attacks are just that: a problem. It’s not a disease and you don’t have a mental illness. Panic attacks affect millions of people from all walks of life. You are not alone. Do some research online and you’ll find user groups and online information waiting to be discovered. If you don’t want to open up to someone in person you may find an online friend that is struggling with the same condition.

So don’t give up. There is a cure for you. Take the first step so you can find it.

Four common web designing mistakes

Web designing is not just about putting up a web site and hoping it will get enough traffic. And, while it is okay to reflect your personality through your web site, you need to remember that that is only a small part of web designing. Web designing is more about catering to your target audience and reflecting what it is they want to see. A person may stumble upon your website by pure accident but it is high-quality web designing that usually creates customer loyalty and keeps them coming back time and again.

Here then are four of the most common mistakes made by amateur web designers:

Bad Search

Search engines are fine tuned and tweaked to such an extent that, in a way, their usability has been reduced. Such search engines are sometimes unable to process hyphens, plurals or typos, creating problems for its various users especially the elderly. Since most Internet users depend on searches to find what they what, it is best to keep it simple and easy to use.

Use of PDF Files

Most people browsing the internet hate PDF files, preferring to skip the site altogether and it is easy to understand why. PDF files break the flow of internet browsing. They do not respond to standard browser commands and it is impossible to select data to save or print. To get even a tiny selection of data, the entire PDF file will have to be saved or printed.

Retaining the Color of Visited Links

Links are an important factor when navigating the internet. With no color difference between visited and unvisited links, internet browsers could find themselves re-visiting the same sites again and again.

Web sites that look like advertisements

Most experienced web users have learnt to ignore banners, pop-ups, animation and any other flashing message that distracts them from their goal. Designing your web site to look like an advertisement only ensures that it will get shut down before it even loads on to the computer screen.

3 ways to understand the law of attraction better

No doubt, you’ve probably watched “The Secret” and wanted to know more about the law of attraction. There are plenty of teachers out there talking about the law of attraction, but the truth is that the law of attraction is just a name.

No body is really 100% sure of what the law of attraction really is or how it works. The basic premise is that like attracts like. You can imagine yourself as a magnet attracting all of the circumstances, people and things in your life. Your thoughts, visions, and feelings all work to attract certain things into your life. But the deeper you understand the law of attraction, the more you realize that you alone are responsible for everything in your life.

This is a hard pill to swallow, especially if you’ve been brought up to believe that something or someone outside of you is punishing or rewarding you for something. It’s also difficult to understand, when it seems that things just happen to you. But law of attraction goes beyond your conscious mind, it also includes deep subconscious thoughts, feelings and visions. In many cases, those deeper, hidden feelings and programs can override what you consciously think and feel. Your subconscious feelings tend to have stronger and deeper roots, while your conscious thoughts don’t.

You can imagine a tree with branches above the earth surface and thick roots beneath the surface. Understanding the law of attraction requires a life time of learning and experience. It’s simply not enough to watch a movie and then know it. But there are ways you can understand more about the law of attraction and use it to bring you more of what you want in life.

Here they are;

1. Read books on the law of attraction – there have been countless books written on it such as The Master Key System – By Charles Haanel, Seth Material – By Jane Roberts, Think & Grow Rich (The original edition) by Napoleon Hill, Psycho-Cybernetics, Law of Attraction – by Michael Losier, and Art of Allowing – by Esther Hicks. Some of these may not use the term law of attraction, but when reading the books you will come to understand the deeper level of what law of attraction actually means. (There are way too many books to list here, so this is only a preliminary list)

2. Exercise the law of attraction daily – even if you just found out about this today, put it into practice. Look for evidence of the things you want.

3. Be patient with yourself. The law of attraction is literally you. Don’t expect overnight changes from yourself. Be balanced while still being open minded to great possibilities.

At the core, law of attraction is love. Your subconscious does not judge, and it only obeys your repeated conscious commands or the things you consistently think, feel and see. The universe is the same way. It’s unconditional love. That deeper level of you doesn’t judge, and it only brings you what you have consistently focused on. So even if you keep saying that you don’t want something and you keep thinking about the things you do NOT want, guess what? You’re focusing on those things. And you’re bringing more of those things to yourself. The key is to shift your focus on the things you do want.

Stock research nyse s home depot rocks investors with ceo resignation can corporate culture survive

Our stock research has come up with an interesting play. As you know, Home Depot through its Board of Directors forced the resignation of General Electric trained CEO, Robert Nardelli, who had only been with Home Depot a couple of years. Somehow, Nardelli managed to get the Board to give him a $200 million severance package, which has Home Depot shareholders up in arms. How did a long-time General Electric guy like Nardelli screw up so bad that he was forced to resign, and not because he didn’t deliver the numbers? Our stock research we believe has provided the answer.

Many CEO’s have what is called the cult of personality. They make the corporation about them. Sumner Redstone of Viacom is like this, as was Harold Geneen of ITT in the 1960’s. Certainly Charles Revson, creator of Revlon was this way also. Nobody expected Nardelli to be the imperial CEO that he became very quickly once he was given the reins to Home Depot.

There’s an expression that people like to use. It’s called, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” concept. Nardelli violated this cardinal rule of management. He came in, basically said I know how to run things, imposed his will, and then blew it. In the end, he may have blown much more than his own career. Our stock research shows that this company may need much more than Nardelli’s resignation, to effectuate the change that is now needed to reestablish Home Depot as the undisputed heavyweight champion of home improvement.

You might be aware that Lowe’s is breathing down Home Depot’s back as we speak. Wall Street loves Lowe’s, and for the moment dislikes Home Depot big time. Why is Home Depot in trouble? It’s because our work shows that Nardelli may have wiped out much of the original corporate culture that founders Bernie Marcus, and Arthur Blank instilled in the corporation over a 20-year run.

Home Depot is one of the truly great success stories of late 20th century corporate America. It is a classic roll-up (home improvement) of a multi-billion dollar fragmented industry. It was also a vertical roll-up. Prior to Home Depot, you went to one store for plumbing, another for paint supplies, and another for lumber. HD was the first mega store that carried it all.

What you have to keep in mind is that Home Depot was founded on a number of ethical principles, and values. As verbalized by founder Bernie Marcus, they included:

• Superb Customer Service

• Taking Care of the Employees

• Galvanizing, Recognizing, and Promoting Entrepreneurial Spirit

• Respecting all People

• Doing the Right Thing

When Bob Nardelli walked in the door, these principles and values that Home Depot was built on were cast aside in favor of an imperial CEO style. General Electric is the finest run company of its kind in the world, but its style is not appropriate for an entrepreneurial based company like the Home Depot. GE is known for working people all types of hours including all nighters and weekends.

Read any of former GE CEO Jack Welch’s books and he will tell you about how fighting for the CEO slot were the worst years of his life. It was pure politics. It was this atmosphere that Nardelli brought to Home Depot. Nardelli blew up the customer service excellence that Home Depot was known for, by killing the handoff rule. This procedure allowed every Home Depot customer to be brought directly to the store location where the merchandise he was seeking was shelved.

Nardelli injured the entrepreneurial spirit of the store managers by forcing them to comply with the GE management style template. As for taking care of the employees, it starts from the top. The imperial CEO systematically went about replacing as many of the key people in the company as he could with his own General Electric alumni.

The GE alumni are now in Charge at Home Depot

Our problem as a premiere Internet financial advisory firm is that the General Electric style of management which works work if your end user is another company, fails miserably when the end user is a consumer. At Home Depot the consumer was king, and treated appropriately. The employees, known as associates were treated great, because they were the intermediaries to the consumer. Give the employee a bad attitude and the customer picks up on it immediately.

I saw it today in a Home Depot store in Norwalk, Connecticut. We visit several stores each week to gauge for ourselves what is going on. The associate couldn’t be bothered by the customer, and it was obvious. Now if this continues, Lowe’s will eat Home Depot for lunch.

Nardelli gone – What’s the Problem?

The problem is the culture has been changed. The senior management of Home Depot is now a group of General Electric trained executives. All of whom have joined the company in the last five years. They are still there. The Board of Directors has handed the CEO and Chairman slots to Frank Blake who joined the company five years ago in 2002 from where? You guessed it – he spent the bulk of his career at General Electric. Oh yes, he served as deputy secretary for the U. S. Department of Energy. What does any of this have to do with dealing with a guy who wants to buy a paintbrush and a gallon of paint? The answer is very little to nothing. New CEO Blake has a law degree from Columbia, and was a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Stevens. He’s a good guy in the wrong slot with the wrong background.

When we looked at the biographies of the rest of the senior management team, we noticed they too were basically all General Electric former executives brought in by Nardelli. These are people who spent the bulk of their careers at General Electric which means their corporate culture is the GE culture, not the Home Depot culture based on satisfying the customer.

At Home Depot, the customer ALWAYS CAME FIRST. Walk into a store now, and you don’t get that feeling. The stores are in worse shape than they were years ago. The employees are not as helpful, nor as well trained. The spirit that made this company go is no longer evident. The BIG QUESTION is whether or not Home Depot’s current valuation in the stock market makes the stock a buy TODAY, regardless of the management team’s ineptness. That dear investor is another question, and we will have the answer shortly.

Goodbye and Good Luck
